You’ll need to to buy one of these with those savings.

Savings? What savings? I can’t see the price! Heck, I can’t see anything!!

When the C8 is leaked to start at $60k

A Bertone Periscopica ?

But front engine

Looks like a 1LE package as well. Hmm if only you could see out of it...I’d have a used C7 Grand Sport for that money.

But does it roll coal?
![]() 03/16/2019 at 14:34 |

Not a bad deal at all. If I fit in it I would have probably gone for the Camero instead of the C7
![]() 03/16/2019 at 14:41 |

But you can buy a CPO one for some 10k less

On a car this crazy I’d rather not have one that’s been preabused with a crappy warranty.

Ahh, ye olde boost the MSRP to make you feel like you’re getting a discount trick.
![]() 03/16/2019 at 15:12 |

I’d rather have an SS 1LE and 20+k

It looks good in white and I'm usually not a fan.

Someone negotiated locally for an SS 1LE for about 33k, and it was fully loaded.
So do that, then ad about 30k in mods, and have a better than ZL1 SS
![]() 03/16/2019 at 15:48 |

$30k in mods will not result in an SS 1LE being better than a ZL1 1LE
![]() 03/16/2019 at 16:01 |

Then the person doing the mods is an idiot.
$30k into an SS 1LE will be faster .

You could make more power, do tasteful aero, and even suspension, equaling or being better than the ZL1...
![]() 03/16/2019 at 16:25 |

You might make a faster car, but it will not be as reliable, streetable, nor will you still have a warranty, also your, “tasteful aero,” will not work as well as what the factory has developed unless you’re Adrian Newey . Your best bet would be to buy the SS 1LE, spend the money on driving schools, tires, gas and consumables.

No carbon-ceramic brakes. Those are just a cost center.
Aero is not tasteful. It’s effective or not. Aero is cheap either way.
Doesn’t chew up cash trying to reprogram and rebuild the 10 speed automatic (which isn’t dual clutch , it’s an automatic. Oops.)
Not ordering the track package avoids the money devouring electronic suspension bullshit
Don’t have to chuck the mediocre ‘upgraded’ cooling in the bin
LT1 is significantly easier to cool and manage on stock electronics than the LT4 (see also the notorious ‘Vette Z06 )
A base would be a better base only because you don’t have to rip out the eLSD but that assumes pure track car that will not be registered. Easy to drop an LT376 in then and neck down to 500 .

For sure you can make it both faster in a straight line and faster on a track with that money.
